LOCATION: Story City, IA SUMMARY: Manage purchasing, planning, and scheduling functions for the COE. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Optimize inventory levels (raw & FG), capacity resources and production plans while achieving increased efficiency, decreased waste, and improved customer service. Manage demand/supply planning. Owns slow moving and obsolete raw material & FG inventory and manages within acceptable levels as defined in the budget, while working with necessary resources to mitigate. Forecast production schedules. Review RCCP requirements and identify capacity concerns and OT needs. Forecast material requirements and manage material purchases/receipts accordingly. Negotiate prices, deliveries, and special programs including consignment. Work closely with Technical Department & Corporate Procurement to ensure raw material portfolio consists of alternate sourcing for contingency/risk purposes as well as cost competitiveness. Conduct supplier audits and have programs in place to measure supplier’s performance regularly. Focus on strategies for improving supplier/customer business relationships and attaining mutual goals for cost reduction. Supply quality improvement, value added/cost reduction projects as well as identify lead time reduction opportunities. Including process improvement and best practice implementation. Forecast sales compared to budget monthly. Works closely with Customer service manager and Customer Planning Specialist to ensure total supply chain flows without disruption. Solve problems, analyze situations/behaviors, and prioritize responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Must have excellent computer skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
