About The Position

Your experience matters: Frye Regional Medical Center, located in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina is a 355-bed acute care hospital, 81-bed Behavioral Health facility and more than 70 primary and specialty care providers. How you’ll contribute: The Supply Chain Coordinator assists the Director of Materials Management in operating the Materials Management Department in the most efficient and cost effective manner.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, associate’s degree preferred.
  • Two years’ experience in materials handling or purchasing
  • Knowledge of operating a personal computer and related software required.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains contacts with vendors and suppliers.
  • Achieves use of MMIS to track supply usage, streamline procurement and service departments.
  • Analyzes market conditions and statistical data, interviews vendors, and reviews catalogs and other source material to obtain information on items for purchase.
  • Reviews and makes recommendations in reference to all new supplies and equipment.
  • Directs the taking of cyclical and year end inventories.
  • Complies with regulatory requirements and Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Maintains EOC standards by knowing and following procedures in emergency management, hazardous material management, life safety, fire safety, infection control, and security.
