Requirements

  • High School graduate, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrates basic arithmetic and record keeping skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to use computer systems and computer workstations.
  • Demonstrates willingness to carry wireless phone.
  • Must possess a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator's license and be insurable under Firelands' auto policy.
  • Employee must provide proof of personal automobile liability insurance coverage upon request.
  • Ability to understand instructions and communicate effectively in both written and oral form.
  • Punctual attendance at assigned work location is required.
  • Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner and maintain an accident free work place, including ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of emergency codes.

Responsibilities

  • Makes spot checks of actual inventory, as requested.
  • Accurately fills orders from stock or special-order goods to fill requisitions and delivers goods to requesting departments.
  • Accurately fills orders for area fire departments and squads (FRMC only).
  • Makes scheduled and unscheduled deliveries to specific departments and/or nursing units.
  • Keeps assigned supply areas on nursing units clean and orderly.
  • Checks products for expiration dates in Storeroom (TBH & FRMC), Par and non-Par areas on a monthly basis as well as regular rotation of stock (FRMC only).
  • Enters issues and credits Meditech and/or Par Excellence system accurately. (FRMC only)
  • Receives all goods delivered to Firelands Health campuses, verifies the quantity received is the quantity ordered, and verifies expiration dates on all incoming products.
  • Unpacks items to be received by Stores, using the appropriate tools and puts all inventory supplies away.
  • Counts, weighs, or otherwise measures the quantity of incoming supplies.
  • Ascertains condition of incoming supplies, and notes discrepancies or damaged goods and then notifies the Purchasing Office.
  • Routinely lifts light (0-9 pounds) and heavy (10-60 pounds) items of various shapes and sizes.
  • Carries or uses hand truck to convey items from dock area to proper location.
  • Accurately enters receiving information into EMR.
  • Assists with pulling Storeroom orders as scheduled or as needed.
  • Accurately fills orders from supplies stocked in the Storeroom.
  • Makes scheduled and unscheduled deliveries to specific departments and/or nursing stations.
  • Completes appropriate documentation for incoming and outgoing shipments on-line or in log book.
  • Organizes completed documents to keep on file.
  • Checks Storeroom products for expiration dates monthly as well as regular rotation of stock.
  • Assists with annual inventory.
  • Keeps the Storeroom and Receiving Dock area clean and orderly at all times by sweeping the area, removing all cartons, pallets and boxes daily.
  • Reviews and replenishes all crash carts. (FRMC only).
  • Restocks crash cart trays when used & respiratory red bag. (TBH only).
  • Assign patient charges as necessary(FRMC only).
  • Carries a wireless phone as needed.
  • Participates in department performance improvement activities as assigned and attends required training.
  • Demonstrates service excellence and ACE.
