About The Position

Supplier Quality Technician- Warehouse - 2nd Shift Pioneer the next generation of innovation. Training will occur Monday through Friday on 1st shift, 6am to 4:30pm for up to 2 months depending on your hire date. The actual 2nd shift hours will be 7:30pm to 6am. You must be available for the initial 1st shift training schedule and the 2nd shift work schedule when it begins after the training period.

Requirements

  • 2 years in a mechanical, engine or automotive trade school or equivalent associate’s degree; or 3 years of experience in a durable goods assembly or manufacturing environment

Nice To Haves

  • Intermediate blueprint reading skills with a high attention to detail
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with torque equipment and standard measurement equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and gage blocks
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and the ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standards
  • Basic ability to work independently and a strong desire to continuously learn and improve
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Basic interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with other employees
  • Basic oral and written communication skills
  • Basic reading, writing and math skills
  • Basic knowledge of Computer, software, calculator, and common office equipment
  • Basic knowledge of Air Guns, calipers, files, hammers, mallets, torque equipment, and adjustable wrenches etc.
  • Must be a team player by supporting other activities in the Department as required
  • Ability to lift, push, pull weights in the 20-60 lb. range
  • Basic PC knowledge and the ability to efficiently operate computer terminals and scanning devices
  • Experience in assembly processes requiring torqued fasteners
  • Working Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 9001standards
  • Working knowledge on Lean Principles (5S, Kaizen etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for material identification for material without any identification
  • Maintains Q-Hold control including incoming PPAP parts, unidentified material and parts on containment
  • Performs receiving inspection as needed on contained material for visual or minor dimensional and packaging issues
  • Responsible for documenting damaged material as received at Warehouse or due to handling damage at Warehouse
  • Responsible for Sequencing parts from Salvage area to production line
  • Responsible for material transfers and shipping using returns PO, Miscellaneous delivery or Sub Con PO’s
  • Effectively manages Dummy engine process and transfers parts from Salvage to Production line or warehouse in a timely manner
  • Reconciles scrap accounts and ensures charges go to appropriate departments
  • Provides support to other quality team members in gage, engine inspection and 050 Q-hold areas
  • Travels to and from RRSA plant and Warehouse as needed to accomplish tasks
  • Identifies quality problems and recommends solutions to management
  • Documents and communicates quality control information to your supervisor
  • Maintains clean and orderly work areas and complies with safety regulations to help ensure a safe working environment
  • Provides training to personnel as specified in the departmental training matrix
  • Identifies and reduces non-value added work
  • Performs special projects as may be required and maintain on the job flexibility by providing support in salvage and in other production related areas
  • Promotes a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and lives the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce code of conduct
