About The Position

Monitor and assess supplier performance, including risk evaluations, customer disruptions, premium freight, delivery, and PPM metrics on a quarterly basis. Support the supplier selection process as part of the Product Development Team, ensuring alignment with quality and capacity requirements. Conduct on-site and SSA audits for high-impact suppliers to verify compliance with quality standards and drive continuous improvement. Collaborate with SQEs to review supplier corrective action (CA) histories and ensure long-term performance improvements. Collaborate with SQE - Special Projects Coordinator to ensure accurate management of supplier & sub-supplier special process assessments as well as supplier capacity planning. Support sub-tier suppliers in program launches, including Automotive Launch Readiness Assessments and formal Run-at-Rate events for new product development. Track and maintain supplier system certifications (Quality, EMS, etc.) to ensure ongoing compliance. Ensure maintenance and accuracy of Approved Supplier List. Coordination of Supplier Change/Deviation Requests with appropriate team members from Sales, Program Management, and Engineering teams. Maintain and update the Supplier Requirements Manual as needed, while facilitating supplier awareness and acknowledgement to the requirements. Conduct and report out on internal audits as assigned. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) and take on additional responsibilities as needed to enhance internal and external customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • The Supplier Quality Manager must have a solid working understanding of the following:
  • Experience with APQP, PFMEA, control plans, PPAP, Gage R&R studies, GD&T, and SPC.
  • Knowledge and experience with IATF 16949, core tools, and Automotive Customer-Specific Requirements.
  • Proven experience conducting supplier audits.
  • Certified IATF 16949:2016 Lead Auditor certification is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint).
  • Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Engineering or related degree and/or demonstrated relevant work experience in supplier quality.
