About The Position

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will be part of the Supplier Quality Engineering team, which is responsible for ensuring that all components received from Lockheed Martin's global supplier base meet exacting standards, thereby protecting program schedules and mission success. As an SQE, you will drive supplier-focused quality initiatives, safeguard product integrity, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and excels at autonomous problem-solving. This role involves collaboration across Engineering, Manufacturing, Sub-Contracting, and Program Management, directly influencing supplier performance and program health, and delivering measurable impact on mission-critical deliverables. Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time and ability to work a flexible schedule (after hours or weekends when needed)
  • STEM degree at Bachelor's level or higher
  • Must be able to identify and document quality deficiencies and ensure effective corrective action.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis and identifying solutions to complex problems.
  • Familiar with AS9100
  • Experience with control and disposition of non-conforming Material (Material Review Board)
  • Understanding engineering drawings requirements mechanical and electrical inspection methods.

Nice To Haves

  • A basic understanding of the MFC SAP / ERP and P2P business systems
  • ASQ Certification or Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt / Black Belt)
  • Strong familiarity with Production Operations
  • Strong understanding in AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
  • Experience with source inspection and surveillance activities at suppliers
  • Demonstrated Leadership and Customer Relationship Management skills
  • Individual should be a self-starter who can work autonomously with minimal direction
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment
  • Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines and to support all supplier quality field engineering activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide internal and supplier support for root‑cause analysis and corrective‑preventive actions tied to Supplier Corrective Action Requests.
  • Perform ongoing surveillance of supplier conformance and deliver weekly written performance reports.
  • Conduct product line validations per AS9102 and other applicable standards.
  • Participate in supplier failure diagnoses, Material Review Board (MRB) activities, and drawing/process reviews to ensure design assurance.
  • Act as the technical liaison for quality engineering matters, interfacing daily with suppliers, program management, and customers.
