About The Position

The Rapid Prototyping Lab provides fast turn, high precision additive manufacturing capability for aerospace, defense, and R & D projects. The candidate will operate a suite of industrial grade 3D printers, prepare build files, post process parts, and support engineers in translating design concepts into functional hardware. Additionally, the entry level engineer will support in setup, execution, and documenting static and structural test programs that confirm compliance with design specifications, safety requirements, and certification standards.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
Knowledge in CAD modeling (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar).

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of additive manufacturing processes.
Knowledge and basic understanding of material properties (thermoplastics, photopolymers, metal powders).
Knowledge and understanding of static loading, material behavior, failure modes, and structural mechanics; ability to interpret engineering drawings and test specifications.
Experienced in communicating with leadership and using computer Microsoft applications.
Internship or co op experience in an industrial additive manufacturing environment.
Coursework or certification in Additive Manufacturing.
Experience working with manual fabrication tools (wrenches, cutting devices, drills).
