Join a dynamic, growing team that offers healthcare providers an array of medical technology solutions that make a difference in patients’ lives.The Supplier Quality Engineer III (SQE III) leads supplier quality activities to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality materials, components, and services. This role is responsible for driving supplier performance through qualification, risk management, audits, and continuous improvement. The SQE III partners with cross-functional teams to assess supplier risks, resolve complex quality issues, and support new product introductions, design transfers, and supplier changes. Acting as a subject matter expert, the role drives compliance, mentors junior team members as needed, and uses data-driven insights to proactively manage supplier performance and risk.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of experience in a regulated industry
  • Strong knowledge of applicable regulations and standards (e.g., 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, ISO 9001), with emphasis on supplier controls
  • Demonstrated expertise in problem-solving and root cause analysis methodologies
  • Experience applying statistical techniques to support quality and process improvement
  • Proven experience in supplier or quality auditing
  • Experience supporting manufacturing environments and supplier quality activities
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills
  • Effective communication and technical writing skills
  • Ability to present information clearly and influence cross-functional teams
  • Experience facilitating problem-solving and improvement initiatives
  • Proficiency in standard business and quality tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, statistical software such as Minitab)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related technical discipline
  • Experience in a regulated industry, preferably medical devices
  • Proven experience in supplier or quality auditing (third-party certification preferred)
  • Professional certification (e.g., ASQ CQE) or equivalent technical qualification

Responsibilities

  • Drive supplier quality performance across commodities, PFGs, and critical services, ensuring alignment with business and quality objectives
  • Lead supplier qualification and approval activities for new and existing suppliers, including risk assessment and compliance evaluation
  • Advance supplier capability through targeted development initiatives focused on quality, performance, and risk reduction
  • Lead resolution of supplier quality issues, including oversight of SCARs, root cause effectiveness, and escalation as needed
  • Support new product introductions, design transfers, and supplier changes to ensure robust supplier quality and process readiness
  • Drive continuous improvement by analyzing supplier performance data, identifying trends, and implementing proactive actions
  • Oversee supplier-related quality activities including audits, quality planning, and performance reviews
  • Lead cross-functional supplier quality initiatives and represent Supplier Quality in business and project teams
  • Support integration of acquired suppliers into the Teleflex quality system and standards
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, quality standards, and company policies
