Job Description The Supplier Program Manager will serve as the primary point of contact responsible for driving supplier performance and schedule adherence. This role collaborates closely with Supplier Engineers, Program Managers, Production Managers, and Engineering teams to ensure alignment across all phases of the supply chain. This individual will report directly to the Senior Supply Chain & Logistics Manager at the Moorpark facility and will be accountable for managing key supplier relationships and program milestones.

Requirements

  • The successful candidate must have a BA/BS or MA/MS in supply chain, business, engineering or management.
  • 5+ years of experience in Contract, Engineering, Project or Program Management in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of management
  • Understanding of risk management, technical design and manufacturing processes
  • Business management skills

Responsibilities

  • Performs project planning, implementation, and reporting using informal/formal program/project and risk management tools and techniques to mitigate cost, schedule and technical impacts to the organization
  • Provides program direction during all phases of the program (proposal, contract negotiation/award, program kickoff, program execution, program close out) to accomplish cost, technical, and schedule objectives and proactively works with the team and supplier to address and mitigate the impact of unplanned events (failures, realized risks, material issues, etc.) on the organization
  • Serves as the primary supplier point of contact and “voice of the customer” within the organization. Balances and negotiates all changes to the project plan to ensure program objectives and expectations are aligned and executable.
  • Works to resolve conflicts among the team (including the supplier), aligns expectations, and develops both short term and long term executable plans to lead the program to successful conclusion.
  • Work in partnership with the Supplier to manage key supplier master schedules
  • Participate and recommend selection of key suppliers during the development process
  • Assess with Supplier Engineer, manufacturability and capability for newly awarded work.
  • Select Suppliers for Oversight or advanced supplier Audits.
  • Participate in Proposal reviews and evaluate Lead Time requirements vs PWIN
  • Exhibits excellent business judgment required to work effectively to resolve supplier issues.
