Supplier Engineering (SE) at Resmed partners with suppliers and internal teams to drive process improvements, implement robust process controls, and develop comprehensive quality assurance plans. A Supplier Engineer plays a critical role in this mission by collaborating with suppliers on product and process development, conducting quality audits, resolving quality issues, and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs). Key responsibilities include supplier selection and approval, leading corrective action processes, and serving as a liaison between internal teams and suppliers to foster ongoing improvement. Let’s talk about Responsibilities Interface with wider Supply Chain Engineering, Product Development, Planning and GSA to provide materials and components for company product manufacturing. Communicates Resmed requirements & product specifications to suppliers and assesses supplier’s ability to meet product specifications and quality requirements. Participate in supplier audits to ensure that designated suppliers are audited on a regular basis to ensure good manufacturing practices (GMP) and quality standards are met. Monitors parts from acquisition through the manufacturing cycle and communicate and resolve supplier-related problems as they occur. Validate Supplier Processes as part of new product introduction, Engineering Change Note and/or Supplier Change Requests. Ensures that project and or process control documentation are compliant with GDP and internal requirements. Provide technical advice and guidance to suppliers to reduce defect rates Review incoming supplies and finished goods from vendors to check for defects, ensure quality and authorize release Investigate and resolve supplier non-conformances, complaints and CAPAs leading to satisfactory closure. Evaluates suppliers’ internal functions to assess their overall performance and provides feedback in assessment of their operation. Support projects performing work in a specialized area of expertise that requires knowledge of fundamental themes, principles and concepts. Builds productive internal/external working relationships. Let’s talk about Qualifications and Experience Required BS in Engineering or Scientific field (MS preferred), with 2-3 years functional engineering experience within manufacturing as a Manufacturing, Process, Quality or Industrial Engineer. Excellent analytical and technical skills with strong attention to detail. Highly motivated and able to manage multiple projects at once. Willingness to travel domestically & internationally. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) that allow for effective communication with all levels of organization. Demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional departments and stakeholders in a proactive and constructive manner. Experience with Process Validations and/or Test Method Validations (i.e., IQ, OQ, PQ, and/or TMV). Strong organizational and time management skills Willingness to travel (up to 20%, domestic and international). Preferred Experience in operating within highly regulated industry – preferably medical device industry. Experience in outsourced contract manufacturing environment is preferred. Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Training & experience in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Kepner-Tregoe and APQP tools & methodologies. Experience in use of statistical tools (SPC, Gage R&R, Minitab or JMP). Strategic mindset with a focus on continual improvement and operational excellence Ability to manage and resolve supplier-related issues throughout the product lifecycle Experience with supplier audits, quality systems, and regulatory compliance Knowledge of DFM and/ or DFA.
