JOB PURPOSE This internship offers hands-on exposure to enterprise-level supplier compliance and sustainability risk management during an active global compliance campaign. The intern will support PHINIA’s 2025 Supplier Compliance Program by assisting with corrective action issuance, supplier follow-up, and KPI tracking. This role provides a unique opportunity to see how regulatory expectations translate into real supplier actions, buyer engagement, and measurable risk reduction across a global supply chain. The position reports into the Supply Chain Excellence function and is ideal for a student interested in sustainability, supply chain, regulatory compliance, or risk management.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate; field of study is flexible, with interest in sustainability, supply chain, or compliance considered a plus.
  • Strong interest in sustainability, supplier risk, compliance, or global regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with external suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and comfort working with structured data and tracking tools (Excel, Teams, dashboards).
  • Ability to manage follow-ups, deadlines, and multiple workstreams in a process-driven environment.
  • Organized, reliable, and comfortable following defined processes while identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Willingness to learn and engage with complex regulatory topics (e.g., supplier due diligence, sustainability compliance, risk scoring).
  • Professional judgment and discretion when handling sensitive supplier and compliance information.

Responsibilities

  • Supplier Corrective Action Support Assist in issuing corrective actions to suppliers with low compliance or risk scores using approved processes and templates.
  • Track corrective action status and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely responses and remediation progress.
  • Escalate overdue or incomplete corrective actions in accordance with internal protocols.
  • Supplier & Buyer Engagement Communicate with suppliers to support response completion and clarify compliance expectations.
  • Coordinate with internal buyers and plant contacts when updated supplier contact information is required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of outreach, responses, and escalation activities.
  • KPI & Compliance Tracking Monitor supplier progress against 2025 compliance KPIs to support end-of-year Supplier Compliance and Risk Rating objectives.
  • Update master tracking files and dashboards to ensure data accuracy and management visibility.
  • Support ongoing reconciliation of supplier lists and response statuses.
  • Process & Program Support Document recurring supplier questions and assist in maintaining internal FAQs and reference materials.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of supplier engagement and follow-up processes during the 2025 campaign.
