About The Position
Supplemental Instruction Leaders engage students in peer-led collaborative groups that integrate how to learn with what to learn for certain biology and chemistry courses.
Requirements
- Must be a current SUNY Cortland student
- Successful candidates will have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher and have earned a B+ or higher in the course of interest
- Leaders MUST attend all lectures for the assigned course
- Candidates must submit the names/contact information for two academic references, preferably professors at SUNY Cortland who know you well. Include the names and email addresses of your academic references on this application.
Nice To Haves
- For all candidates, previous attendance in SI sessions is a plus!
Responsibilities
- attending all lectures for the course
- meeting with the course professor
- meeting with the SI Coordinator
- preparing for and facilitating three hours of study sessions per week
