Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) – The Learning Center – Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leader Instructional Student Assistant for the Learning Center The Learning Center is seeking applicants to fill Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leader positions. Position Overview: Fresno State’s Learning Center is a space that encourages students to grow intellectually as critical thinkers. We advance student success by actively using effective learning strategies to improve content understanding and course grades. SI Leaders do not teach, but instead, facilitate students' learning of difficult topics within historically challenging courses or subjects. The Learning Center aims to boldly integrate the culture and values of each student to inspire a community of life-long learners. Please see below for key characteristics associated with the position of a Learning Center SI Leader: Supports students and professors in a specific course or section (example: CHEM 1A with Professor Gray) Must work 13-15 hours a week, divided into 30-minute to 3- hour tasks, 3-5 days a week Drives the agenda of 90-minute study sessions Works most hours in a classroom, with office hours in the Learning Center Must be able to attend class lectures (in-person and/or virtual) for the supporting course Anticipated Appointment Dates: This position is opened until filled.
