About The Position

The Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Supervisor Trainee for our Levy Nucor Yamato in Bythville, AR. The purpose of this position is to train select individual(s) in the supervision of various functions of the Steel Mill Service Division. Our objective is to have the individual become knowledgeable in all aspects of the operation, including the processing plant, product quality, mobile equipment capabilities, human resource management, budgeting, and equipment maintenance. The individual should be a self-starter with high standards of ethics and conduct. Must be organized, a leader, a facilitator, a problem solver and innovative with the ability to plan. The Trainee will be teamed up with a mentor and must be able to perform or understand each aspect of assigned jobs within the division by the time they are promoted to a management position. This will involve performing many of the jobs they may manage later.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience in industrial or construction environment
  • General knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations and the ability to implement the appropriate related programs and controls
  • Ability to understand financial data
  • Supervisory experience
  • Computer experience with knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with a variety of operational and staff personnel to implement processes and ensure adherence to procedures
  • Participates in various site audits (Safety, Environmental, Quality, etc.) to develop knowledge of compliance requirements and audit practices
  • Supports safety and environmental initiatives including employee safety engagement; regulatory compliance and related training
  • Ensures equipment availability through effective and efficient scheduling of equipment maintenance and repairs
  • Trains, supports, schedules, and coordinates a working team of employees.
  • Coordinates teams to identify process improvements and to develop and document maintenance procedures
  • Develops and maintains relationships with mill management, vendors and operations management
  • Monitors product specifications for commercial and state applications
  • Manages equipment and plant maintenance procedures and costs
  • Reviews monthly budget to manage department costs
  • Assists with the evaluation of capital expenditures
  • Requisitions parts and services
  • Reviews and approves time cards
  • Runs KPI reports, analyzes data and utilizes information for better decision-making
  • Provides reporting and recordkeeping as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
