About The Position

Bath Iron Works (BIW), a General Dynamics company, is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to be the supervisor of our Master Scheduling and Test Planning teams. This individual would be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of shipyard construction and test schedules for all hulls in production, shipyard wide to support BIW in achieving our collective mission of Safely Executing High Quality Work and delivering ships to the US Navy.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 years of related experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify critical paths, analyze complex data, and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in project management software, such as Microsoft Project, to develop and manage schedules.
  • Ability to summarize project status to clearly and effectively report out to high level stake holders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead a team towards common goals.
  • Strong desire and ability to collaborate and coordinate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in maintaining and updating schedules.
  • Knowledge of project management and EVMS methodologies and best practices.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, such as Excel or Tableau, to generate reports and metrics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Organizational Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in project management, such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PMI-SP (Scheduling Professional), is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain shipyard schedules for hulls to be executed in a safe manner.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Oversee the execution of schedule maintenance for all hulls.
  • Provide routine schedule analysis and create action plans for risk mitigation.
  • Lead and grow a team of planners.
  • Identify and assess risks, issues, and conflicts that may impact schedules.
  • Collaborate with resource management teams to ensure alignment between the schedule and resource allocation.
  • Produce specific focused schedules as needed to achieve near term milestones as required for a given hull.
  • Produce weekly schedule reports for the customer that are compliant with strict contractual requirements.
  • Have an eye for continuously improve scheduling processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
