About The Position

As a Supervisor in the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities department, you will play a key leadership role in supporting staff and ensuring high-quality care for individuals with intellectual disabilities. You will oversee daily operations, provide supervision and training, and foster a collaborative, person-centered environment that aligns with Pittsburgh Mercy’s mission and values. What You Will Do Staff Supervision & Development: Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to direct care staff. Coordinate staffing schedules and ensure adequate coverage. Training & Compliance: Oversee onboarding and ongoing training to ensure staff meet regulatory and organizational standards. Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day operations of the program, ensuring quality service delivery and adherence to policies. Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with individuals served families, staff, and external partners. Problem Solving & Conflict Resolution: Address concerns and resolve conflicts in a timely, professional manner. Continuous Improvement: Participate in quality assurance initiatives and contribute to program development and innovation.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or above from an accredited college or university and at least 1 year of experience working directly with individuals with intellectual disabilities OR Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and at least 3 years of experience working directly with individuals with intellectual disabilities
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Experience in staff supervision and training
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Valid Driver’s License and access to transportation
  • Required clearances and pre-employment screenings
