About The Position

The Supervisor, Radiology oversees the daily clinical operations, functions, and resources within the Radiology Department ensuring a safe and productive environment. This role operates and maintains specialized imaging equipment, systems, computer software programs, and procedure equipment Department to guarantee the delivery of effective high quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree, vocational or technical school degree and completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
  • Registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Proven critical thinking skills essential for daily operations and managing patient flow.
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills suitable for conveying technology-based information to various individuals.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferred.
  • Additional registry in related modality, preferred.
  • 2 years leadership experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the daily operations of radiology activities of various modalities of Diagnostic Imaging which may include one or more of the following modalities: Diagnostic Radiology, Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, and/or Mammography.
  • Assists with clinical procedures and patient care while maintaining a focus on quality assurance and improvement.
  • Coordinates equipment service needs and preventative maintenance to always ensure the proper functioning of equipment.
  • Oversees departmental productivity and operations to achieve budgetary targets, while monitoring overtime hours; contributes to budgetary planning needs.
  • Coordinates and organizes the patient flow throughout the department, prioritizing procedures and shifting workloads, monitors response times.
  • Develops and implements processes and procedures designed to enhance efficiency; performs necessary audits and communicates audit results to leadership, as needed.
  • Collaborates with management to ensure compliance with the Joint Commission, various regulations, policies, and procedures; works with key stakeholders throughout the health system to improve program development and patient care.
  • Provides training to staff members in regard to departmental practices and techniques, and equipment use.
  • Participates in committee meetings to stay updated on health system initiatives.
