Job Description: The Supervisor, Radiology Authorization will report to OneOncology’s Manager, Radiology Authorization. This role will responsible for the day-to-day coordination and supervision of the Authorization team. Part of this role involves providing recommendations to optimize department workflows and implement process improvements. This position requires in-depth knowledge in the areas of insurance authorization and the ability to identify impact on the organization. The supervisor should be well versed on OneOncology policies and procedures that impact the Authorization Department. The supervisor should maintain a thorough knowledge of insurance payer guidelines, federal and state requirements, 3rd party requirements, and Research/Clinical Trials guidelines. The supervisor should have a skill set that demonstrates and aids maximum reimbursement for the organization by using proper judgement and following guidelines.

Requirements

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate and establish collaborative relationships with physicians, patients, clinical and administrative staff, and the public.
Excellent customer service skills.
Knowledge of clinic office procedures, medical practice, and medical terminology.
Ability to recognize, evaluate and solve problems.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient in the use of end-user computer applications regarding productivity (MS Word, Excel, Outlook), database and patient scheduling platforms, and other medical information systems.
Ability to operate various types of office equipment.
High School diploma or equivalent required.
3+ years of authorization experience.

Responsibilities

Serve as a knowledge expert and informative resource for the team.
Assist team members with questions and concerns as needed.
Review and process accurate time and attendance records in the time keeping system.
Conduct and assist with department meetings.
Promote and assist with team development and training.
Monitor and analyze department quality and metrics.
Provide timely coaching and feedback to team members.
Conduct timely assessments and performance reviews.
Communicate and provide support for escalated billing issues, denials, peer to peer requests, rescheduling, and other issues.
Collaborate with Front Office, Imaging, IAC, Billing, Clinical Trials and other departments as needed.
Communicate with physician/clinical staff on reimbursement issues and/or authorization requirements by patient insurance carriers.
Maintain accurate reports and logs, monitor and follow up on denials and appeals, and ensure all reports are completed within required timeframes.
Follows policy and procedures outlined by management to ensure standardization of processes across the department.
Maintain confidentiality with patient and employee files.
Other duties as assigned to help drive our mission of improving the lives of everyone living with cancer.
