The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing quality control operations, leading a team of quality inspectors and technicians, and ensuring all manufactured products meet established quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • An associate degree in quality management, quality engineering, or a combination of relevant education and experience
  • 3+ years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) principles
  • Ability to coach, develop, support, and guide a team with technical skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of measurement and testing equipment
  • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies
  • Proficient in MS Office applications such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and production systems

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field
  • Experience with quality software systems and databases
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements (FDA, OSHA, EPA as applicable)
  • Experience in union manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train QA personnel in inspection techniques, quality standards, and operating procedures
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Identify opportunities and support creation and implementation of plant processes and/or product improvement projects
  • Develop, review, and maintain quality documentation, including inspection plans and test procedures
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions
  • Implement and maintain quality management systems
  • Ensure adherence to company quality policies and industry regulations
  • Schedule and assign work activities to ensure adequate coverage across all shifts
  • Collaborate with union representatives on quality-related matters and grievance resolution
  • Communicate with suppliers to address incoming material quality issues
  • Communicate with customers regarding quality requirements and complaint resolution
  • Participate in internal and external audits
