About The Position

Iteris is looking for a Supervisor, Production, who will manage people and process, while comprehending complex operations. Top-notch communication skills are important to be able to clearly communicate expectations with all members of the team. The Supervisor’s goal is to ensure that products and services are delivered at maximum quality in a profitable manner. By giving clear and timely instructions, the Supervisor oversees the work of direct employees to ensure successful completion of tasks. The successful Supervisor possesses acute problem-solving skills, and motivates staff results by meticulous planning, monitoring, and appraising. The Supervisor must take on the role of coaching, counseling, and correct employees as well as initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. The Supervisor must maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the process, understanding the inevitable variables, and facilitating corrections. The Supervisor is an integral part of the business process, and team, and must be highly competent, respected and trustworthy in all areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Over five (5) years’ working in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Lean Expert (Green Belt minimum)
  • Proven leadership skills with a large and diverse workforce
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to exert moderate physical effort, typically involving, some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 50 pounds)

  • Set goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company’s vision, mission and values and communicate them to subordinates
  • Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks
  • Maintain timekeeping
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, and developing personal growth opportunities
  • Accomplishes staff job results by coaching, counseling, and correcting employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; conducting training; implementing enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards
  • Completes operations by implementing productivity standards; resolving operations problems; maintaining reference instructions; implementing new procedures
  • Address problems with work quality, issues between employees and other concerns in an effective, timely manner
  • Ensure employees adhere to company policies and legal regulations
  • Conduct performance reviews, motivate team members and create strategies to boost productivity
  • Ability to effectively communicate at every level within the organization
  • Work closely with support staff such as Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Stockroom to resolve issues
  • Update production metrics and facilitate regular team communication
  • Identify and support continuous improvement efforts
  • Sustain and drive lean manufacturing and 5S activities
  • Conduct audits to ensure employees are performing tasks according to Standard Operating Procedures (MPP)
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiply projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
  • Perform additional duties that may be given or assigned from time to time or as needed due to the demand of business
  • May work longer hours when needed
