About The Position

At Corbion, we exist to champion preservation in all its forms, preserving food and food production, health, and our planet.  The Production Supervisor is based at the Totowa, NJ plant and reports directly to the Operations Manager. This position will focus on providing leadership to the hourly production staff to achieve daily production goals. The Production Supervisor is part of a team of shift supervisors who work together to accomplish and maintain high levels of performance and quality in the food manufacturing facility. Responsible for safety, quality, productivity, consistency and people development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS) required, engineering degree is preferred.
  • Two plus (2+) years in a manufacturing supervisory role within the food industry.
  • Ability to motivate and instruct employees as well as administer discipline.
  • Understanding of union rules and policies; lead a union workforce.
  • Food processing, GMP and OSHA knowledge.
  • Knowledge of ERP and ADP systems.
  • Willingness to work second or third shift with occasional weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), Safety, and Environmental regulations as well as company policies.
  • Maintain a positive attitude. Focus on the customer. teamwork, and quality productivity.
  • Give recommendations to work safely, efficiently, and better serve the customer.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality and Supply Chain supervisors to ensure production is on schedule.
  • Supervise all aspects of the production and sanitation processes and support master GMP and sanitation list.
  • Provide quality audit support and communicate quality assurance needs.
  • Assign personnel to specific jobs.
  • Develop and establish defined goals and achieve those results with the plant workforce
  • Identify high performance individuals and help with succession planning.
  • Ensure goals are met safely and that the workforce is operating within safety guidelines.
  • Ensure correct materials are used in the manufacturing process and that standard operational procedures are being followed.
  • Inspect equipment for cleanliness.
  • Supervise the blender and kettle operators and packers in all aspects of their duties.
