About The Position

This position performs a full spectrum of assignments related to the achievement of manufacturing goals through the application and sustainment of lean manufacturing techniques, effective supervision and training of manufacturing personnel in the Molding area. Coordinates production, quality, and materials activities so that manufactured products meet quality, service, and cost standards and objectives.  Responsible for ensuring compliance with quality product certifications.A Day In The Life Implements and adheres to production schedules to maintain on-time delivery of orders. Along with other Business Unit exempt peers, prevents and implements corrective actions to avoid, reduce or eliminate manufacturing problems, i.e. materials and parts shortages, machinery and equipment downtime, capacity limitations, quality non-conformance’s, etc. Responsible for the implementation, sustainment, and continued improvement of the assigned area(s) through lean manufacturing techniques. Secure the Quality System integrity and for the implementation, execution, and compliance of the Hubbell Caribe Limited (“HCL”) Quality Manual procedures within the area(s) under his supervision. Recommends hiring, promotions, special merit wage increases, disciplinary actions, suspensions, and termination of supervised personnel.   Timely completion, revision, and discussion of job description/job instructions, discipline documentation, and performance appraisals. Responsible for personnel safety, coordinates the purchase and replacement of protective equipment, delivers and trains personnel on the proper use of protective equipment, ensures compliance to safety policies, procedures, and rules, audits his assigned area(s) to identify hazards, recommends and initiates corrective actions, as required.

Requirements

  • A minimum of Associate Degree in Business or Engineering.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of supervisory and manufacturing related professional or technical experience in Scientific Molding (RJG/Decoupled Molding, Master Molder preferred).
  • Experience in SMED, DOE, SPC, Cp/Cpk analysis and auxiliary equipement: dryers, thermolators, feeders, hoopers, granulators, hot runners, and robots (Cartesian or 6-axis)
  • Knowledge of thermoplastics resins
  • Personal computers hardware & applications knowledge.
  • Critical Thinking, personnel resource management, active listening and coordination skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual, English/Spanish written and verbal communication skills is highly desirable.
