About The Position

Location: Physical Address: 10300 Illinois St #1000, Carmel, IN 46290 Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm This position will start at North Hospital Medical Office Building, then move to the primary location at the Spring Mill building in May of 2026. Direct supervision of staff – responsible for a team of support staff (e.g. overseeing 8–13 Medical Assistants) in the clinic. Duties include scheduling and staffing, training, and onboarding MAs, monitoring performance, and compliance, resolving day-to-day operational issues, and acting as the first-line leader for the clinic’s support team. In short, the Ambulatory Supervisor is accountable for team performance and clinic workflow, bridging frontline staff and higher management. Empowered to make operational decisions for the team (within defined parameters). The supervisor handles local issues and immediate decisions to keep the practice running smoothly (e.g. reallocating MA assignments, addressing patient flow problems, approving minor time-off requests) and escalates higher-level decisions to the Clinic Manager or Practice Administrator as needed. The scope is the day-to-day management of the clinic’s support staff and operational coordination. Supervises and directs the duties, responsibilities, and daily operations of the ambulatory float pool. This ambulatory float pool will support adult and pediatric, single- and multi-specialty practices located throughout central Indiana. Coordinate's locations for all float pool team members. Recruits, hires, develops training, and assigns appropriate team members according to clinical support needs as expressed by practice leadership, and patient population specific needs. Resolves problems in a collaborative fashion with all practice leaders. Ensures the provision of patient care services by the developing effective working relationships with various practice leaders. Collaborates with all ambulatory practice leaders and contribute to the decision-making process as a member of Practice Operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required or equivalent years of experience.
  • 3-5 years of personnel management experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Requires ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Requires ability to be self-directed and work independently.
  • Requires extensive knowledge about computers and use of various software programs to support hospital operations.
  • Requires knowledge of state and federal regulations.
