About The Position

Position Purpose: oversees the pre-registration, insurance verification, and financial counseling teams to ensure accurate, timely patient financial clearance. They monitor performance, train staff, and manage pre-service payments. Key responsibilities include reducing revenue cycle errors, verifying benefits, and providing cost estimates to patients. What you will do: Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor staff on registration systems, insurance verification, and financial counseling techniques. Pre-Service Operations: Oversee the verification of insurance benefits, prior authorization, and pre-registration for scheduled patients. Financial Counseling: Ensure staff explains financial responsibilities, policies, and payment options to patients, and assist in setting up payment plans. Performance Monitoring: Track KPIs, such as percentage of accounts cleared, average registration time, and accuracy rates, implementing improvement plans as needed. Revenue Optimization: Collaborate with payor relations to address payer trends and ensure compliance with regulatory and hospital requirements. Patient Communication: Handle escalated patient, family, or physician inquiries regarding financial matters. Qualifications & Skills Education: A bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, finance, or a related field is often preferred. Experience: Previous experience in hospital revenue cycle, patient registration, or financial counseling, with demonstrated leadership experience. Technical Skills: Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic) and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge: Strong understanding of insurance payers, prior authorization processes, and medical terminology. Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, finance, or a related field is often preferred.
