About The Position

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. FirstEnergy is seeking a results‑driven Supervisor, Portfolio Development and Strategy to lead the development and oversight of our Transmission Capital Portfolio. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are well‑defined, strategically aligned, and effectively prioritized to support operational, regulatory, and financial goals. The successful candidate will bring strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups while supporting FirstEnergy’s commitment to safety, reliability, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Construction Management, or related field (or experience may substitute). Consideration will be given to applicants having extensive multi-disciplined technical and operational background in lieu of a college degree.
  • Minimum 5 years in engineering, finance, construction, project management, planning, or project controls.
  • Commitment to safety culture and safe work practices.
  • Strong project management, time management, and ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and analytical skills.
  • Highly motivated leader with ability to work independently and lead change.
  • Collaborative thinker who adapts to change.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, QlikView/PowerBI, and SAP data mining.
  • Able to deliver high‑quality work within deadlines and handle broad analytical assignments.
  • Results‑oriented, willing to work extra hours and travel as needed.

  • Experience with scheduling/forecasting tools preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead teams in developing, prioritizing, and managing FirstEnergy’s 10‑year Transmission Capital Portfolio.
  • Oversee creation of project scopes and support asset review and project onboarding.
  • Drive portfolio planning for reliability, operational, and condition‑based initiatives.
  • Analyze data and provide clear reporting to support portfolio decisions.
  • Develop presentations and strategic content for leadership and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across the business to align portfolio goals, budgets, forecasts, and regulatory timelines.
  • Provide timely, accurate insights and updates to internal customers and partners.
  • Manage current‑year portfolio performance and emergent project intake.
  • Promote continuous improvement, effective communication, and a safety‑focused culture.
