About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor, who reports to the Associate Director of Plant Management or Administrator of OLOL - Assumption, supervises at OLOL: the Assistant Maintenance Supervisor, Mechanics, Carpenters, Painters, Parking Attendants, Utility Workers, and a Stores Clerk, supervises at OLOL - Assumption: Utility Workers, also inspects hospital buildings and grounds to ensure conformity with established standards and regulations, establishes preventive maintenance schedules, and prioritizes repair and maintenance work in an effort to minimize the disruption of hospital operations and provide efficient and cost-effective maintenance services. The Supervisor assists in planning and overseeing major hospital repairs and construction, implements and monitors departmental work schedules, assists in the preparation of performance appraisals, and monitors departmental statistical and financial information. Additional responsibilities include generating reports detailing performance deficits, providing guidance, support, and counseling to staff members, and encouraging employees to voice ideas for better hospital operation, improved communication between staff, and higher quality health care services.

Requirements

  • 3 years as a supervisor/lead role in maintenance, construction, area related field
  • High School or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Establishes preventive maintenance schedules and prioritizes repair and maintenance work in an effort to minimize disruption of hospital operations and provide efficient and cost-effective maintenance services.
  • Assists in planning and overseeing major hospital repairs, renovations, and new construction in an effort to maintain the hospital's professional appearance.
  • Serves as a liaison between hospital and contractor in order to ensure compliance with job specifications.
  • Inspects buildings and grounds to ensure that the hospital conforms with established standards and regulations and that the hospital's professional appearance is maintained.
  • Selects, trains, orients, and assigns departmental staff members in a manner that ensures efficient departmental operations and complies with relevant regulations governing the employment process.
  • Implements and monitors departmental work schedules and duty assignments and oversees departmental staffing levels.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
