You will guide our pharmacy operations during a consistent 7:00 AM–3:30 PM schedule, with occasional off‑shift coverage to meet staffing needs. Requirements

  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, 2 of which should be in a leadership capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day‑to‑day pharmacy operations, ensuring accurate, efficient, and high‑quality pharmacy services across centralized and decentralized areas.
  • Oversee purchasing and inventory control, determining appropriate drug quantities and adhering to cost‑savings initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements including JCAHO, Pennsylvania Department of Health, FDA, DEA, USP, and OSHA.
  • Ensure appropriate handling, procurement, and documentation of controlled substances in accordance with DEA guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication within the pharmacy and with hospital staff to support smooth operations and high-quality patient care.
  • Coordinate daily activities of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to ensure optimal workflow and staffing.
  • Assist Pharmacy Leadership with recruiting, onboarding, and training staff, ensuring employees are prepared to meet performance expectations.
  • Monitor staff performance, conduct performance appraisals, and partner with leadership on coaching or corrective actions when needed.
  • Stay current with developments in pharmacy practice, technology, regulations, and healthcare trends, sharing knowledge and insights with the team.
  • Provide or oversee required training, testing, and competency assessments, maintaining appropriate documentation and fostering professional growth.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensure patient safety by adjusting staffing schedules to account for sick leave, vacations, and fluctuating patient census.
  • Assist in preparing, implementing, and monitoring capital and operating budgets.
  • Manage pharmacy scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and efficient workflow.
  • Oversee packaging, labeling, and distribution of medications according to established standards, continuously identifying opportunities to enhance services and processes.
