About The Position

Supervisor ensures daily coordination of work flow while maintaining a positive work environment, acting as a resource to staff, supporting appropriate financial practices and monitoring staff and operations to allow for optimal performance in team job responsibilities. Ensures that staff are provided with training, support and oversight that will enable Eisenhower Health to maintain financial services activities and an Accounts Receivable cycle that occurs on a timely basis and in compliance with all regulatory and Payor /CMS requirements. Oversee and directs activities related to the business office and processing of patient accounts, to include follow up with key stakeholders, patients and staff.

Requirements

  • High school diplima, GED or higher level degree if hired after February 1, 2025
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience or five (5) years of healthcare experience; bachelor's degree in lieu of experience
  • Ability to demonstrate good leadership and supervision skills
  • Ability to display analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledgeable of Revenue Cycle or areas within financial services to support the entire Revenue Cycle, experience in Medical Records, billing, patient access/registration requires
  • Knowledge of financial and reimbursement rules related to billing and collections of managed care payors, MediCal, Medicare or other related payor knowledge preferred
  • Knowledge of hospital, clinic, DME or other related healthcare financial/billing and databases systems preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Windows knowledge, keyboarding skills required
  • Experience with Internet applications, MS Work, Excel and databases applications helpful
  • Understanding of medical terminology, CPT/ICD9 (or ICD-10) coding or other related regulatory and coding requirements preferred
  • Written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
  • Coordinates and manages daily team activities to ensure scheduling and appropriate staff coverage of all functions, including providing desk coverage or operational support for absences impacting operations; escalates scheduling or staff coverage issues to leadership, as needed.
  • Supervises all assigned staff to include hiring, orienting, training, evaluating and coaching; escalates employee performance concerns to leadership and provides documentation for counseling and performance improvement plans (PIPs) as necessary.
  • Ensures procedures are followed to promote accurate and timely account resolution of all applicable reimbursement/revenue cycle functions under accountability of PFS team.
  • Maintains department operations reporting to support functions of team for Revenue Cycle, Finance or clinical team/revenue; maintains daily/weekly/monthly productivity logs for each member designated team(s) and appropriate reporting for Revenue Cycle leadership for designated team(s).
  • Resolves account variances, account exceptions, reporting exceptions or issues identified during daily staff work flow.
  • Reviews and approves adjustments, work flow variances with high dollar impacts or other account review as designated in department operating processes.
  • Identifies and tracks trends and issues; recommends and implements procedural changes when appropriate.
  • Meets with PFS Manager/Revenue Cycle Leadership on a regular basis to discuss issues and to identify areas that are not meeting standards.
  • Performs team core functions, to ensure accountability and continuity to team operations during absences and transitions, as needed.
  • Develops PFS policies and procedures and training materials.
  • Performs special projects and attends meetings as requested by manager.
  • Attends staff meeting, in-house training and attend classes pertaining to Federal and State billing regulations as well as compliance issues and Guidelines, when requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
