About The Position

The Supervisor - Parts Logistics position will be responsible for supporting, planning, organizing, evaluating, and reporting all activities associated to Parts Distribution business. Their tasks include daily monitoring, analyzing relevant data, formulating reports, developing presentations, supporting with selecting and managing carriers, preparing network optimization studies, and developing and monitoring annual business plans and KPIs.

  • Strong communication, critical thinking, planning, and organizational skills
  • Required Experiences with computer database management systems
  • Required Advanced PC skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other database management systems
  • Required Must possess necessary interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with different departments along with current customers
  • Required Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Bachelors Degree Required
  • 5 - 8 Years of direct experience in Transportation, Logistics, Business Development, and/or Billings Required

Nice To Haves

  • SAP experience Preferred
  • 6 - 9 Years of previous working knowledge of parts or vehicle distribution in the automotive industry Preferred
  • 1 - 3 Years of Supervisory Experience Preferred
  • Excel training Preferred
  • HAZMAT training CFR49 Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with departmental projects such as system development and project implementation and any other job assigned
  • Prepare project status reports, profitability reports, executive summaries and presentation as needed
  • Develop recommendations and prepare necessary approval documents for management in Operations and Finance
  • Provide customer with KPI reporting as requested
  • Prepare and distribute daily and weekly KPIs reports : On-time, claims, and exceptions
  • Assist, develop, issue, maintain, and analyze RFQ responses from carriers/service providers as needed
  • Participate software development and/or system improvements as related to parts distribution
  • Maintain open dialogue with other department to coordinate activities and improve performance and productivity
  • Support and review daily operations, performance reports, and take appropriate action to resolve, including root cause and minimizing risk
  • Assist in financial and operational due diligence, when applicable, by collecting and analyzing financial and operational data
  • Prepare analysis, projections, forecasts as they relate to Parts Distribution
  • Collect historical data, and research/consider trends (from an Internet source or target company's internal systems) to develop a reasonable forecast
  • Monitor daily operations as related to Parts Distribution (may require daily communication with carriers and customers, directly investigations to verify and resolve customer complaint)
  • Monitor, report, and resolve daily billing activities and prepare monthly forecast and accruals as needed
  • Monitor collections and payments (AR/AP)
  • Formulate project reports as requested by Finance and/or Operations departments
  • Assist with all business activities with EDI and manual invoicing
  • Prepare month end updates, invoices, and monthly accruals
  • Effectively communicate with Management on business, current statuses, issues, and resolutions to provide better customer service, and any other assignments related to department
  • Assist with developing KPI to measure the effectiveness of the carriers/service provided
  • Provide customer with KPI reporting as requested
  • Other duties as assigned
