Lonza Tampa is seeking a Packaging Supervisor to oversee and direct all work activities in the packaging department, including production scheduling, material exchange, personnel and processes. The Packaging Supervisor will work closely with other functions to ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices at all times.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in a cGMP pharmaceutical setting, preferably with oral solid dosage.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of good manufacturing practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Outstanding communication and problem-solving skills to identify and address operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide work direction and leadership to ensure team members align with processes, procedures, and instructions for all activities on the shop floor.
  • Direct the daily maintenance and operations of the packaging facility to uphold efficiency.
  • Review production schedules and provide inputs to the Master Scheduler, ensuring accurate batch records and timely resolution of quality events.
  • Conduct quality event investigations and resolve documentation issues promptly.
  • Hire, mentor, and manage the performance of employees to build an exceptionally skilled team.
  • Deliver on-the-floor training to support technical and cGMP training, alongside other related training programs.
  • Coordinate the purchases of indirect materials and manage overtime to meet the packaging department's needs.
  • Communicate effectively with collaborators like Project Managers, QA, and related functions to ensure alignment and successful implementation of processes.
  • Adhere to and enforce all Safety and Sustainability requirements, promptly reporting any issues and stopping work when necessary to maintain safety.
