About The Position

Scope & Responsibilities of Supervisor Packaging: (Not limited to) Oversee the employees and operations of the Packaging Plant including loading and unloading products and maintaining accurate inventory.  Supervises all processing employees in the Packaging Plant operation.  Ensures employees are scheduled and appear on time on all shifts and are prepared and properly outfitted for work.  Ensures all employees receive proper safety and operating training.  Manages permitting work, lock-out-tag-out (LOTO), and service requests. Provides input into the hiring and performance management processes by providing coaching, counseling, motivation, and training of staff operating under ARG’s policies and goals.  Provides input in the performance management process.  Ability to communicate effectively with team members, customers, and other department personnel via phone, email, and in person.  Adapt to changes in work schedule and available for callout with minimal notice to cover planned &/or unplanned business needs. Ability to give and receive feedback openly.  All other assigned work given by supervisor/manager. Requirements

  • Minimum five (5+) years of experience in blending or packaging operations.
  • General knowledge in various federal and state regulatory laws with specific training in Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, Hazardous Materials (HazMat), Labor Law, FRA regulations and ISO System.
  • Microsoft Office applications Access, Excel, Word, and Outlook as well as other applicable software. In addition, demonstrated ability in the use of process simulation software, project mgmt. system.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • COGNITIVE DEMANDS: Meet deadlines, focus attention, work independently, independent judgments, work with a team, communicating, reading comprehension, critical thinking/troubleshooting.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: seeing, speaking, hearing, sitting, walk/climb, stand/reach, listen, writing, driving, keyboarding, Working in extreme heat/cold. Push/pull/lift/carry 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience is helpful but not required.
