About The Position

The Packaging Supervisor is responsible for leading packaging operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production of finished goods. This role supervises hourly employees, enforces company policies, and ensures adherence to GMP, food safety, and quality standards. The supervisor partners with maintenance, quality, and leadership teams to resolve issues, drive performance, and support continuous improvement. Work is performed in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to warm, wet, and noisy conditions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and hold employees accountable to performance and safety expectations.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication with hourly employees and leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
  • Ability to perform moderately strenuous work, including standing, walking, bending, twisting, pushing, and squatting.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
  • Ability to kneel, inspect equipment, and safely use ladders as needed.
  • Work is performed in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to cool or wet conditions, moderate noise, and approved cleaning chemicals.

Nice To Haves

  • Food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead packaging operations to meet production, quality, and safety targets and drive shift performance.
  • Supervise, train, and hold employees accountable to performance and attendance expectations.
  • Enforce company policies, safety rules, and GMP/food safety standards; administer corrective action as needed.
  • Monitor production performance, minimize scrap, and drive operational efficiency.
  • Manage staffing and labor utilization to meet production needs while controlling overtime.
  • Ensure all products are packaged according to specifications and approved processes.
  • Complete accurate and timely shift reports, production data, and required documentation.
  • Partner with maintenance, quality, and leadership to resolve operational issues.
  • Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
