About The Position

Position Supervisor of Teaching and Learning, Secondary STEM subjects Reports To Assistant Superintendent Terms of Employment 260-day work year (MNAA Agreement) Strategic and Cultural Leadership Provide leadership in secondary Math, Science, Computer Science, Business, and Technology Education programs, ensuring alignment with district vision and state standards. Foster a culture of innovation through oversight of the High School STEM Academy and blended/virtual school programming. Promote a positive, collaborative culture among staff, students, and families by modeling ethical and student-centered leadership. Oversee district virtual learning programs Systems Leadership Supervise curriculum, instruction, and assessment for secondary Math, Science, Computer Science, Business, and Technology Education programs. Coordinate assessment programs and ensure compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines. Manage and support instructional programs through scheduling, resource allocation, and observation cycles. Provide leadership with respect to the implementation and oversight of district Artificial Intelligence initiatives. Manage and make recommendations for budget items relates to areas of oversight. Leadership for Learning/Student Achievement Support teachers in developing and implementing high-quality instructional practices in secondary Math, Science, Computer Science, Business, and Technology Education programs. Conduct formal and informal classroom observations, providing actionable feedback to improve teaching and learning. Design and facilitate professional development aligned with district goals and instructional shifts. Lead curriculum development and adoption processes, ensuring vertical and horizontal alignment. Use data to evaluate program effectiveness and inform instructional decisions. Collaborate with building principals and counselors to support high quality intervention programming in areas of related oversight. Professional and Community Leadership Collaborate with principals, supervisors, and district leaders to improve instruction and programming. Communicate effectively with faculty, families, and community stakeholders regarding instructional strategies, resources, and student needs. Seek and write grants to expand instructional opportunities. Provide direction and support to teachers, individually and in teams, to enhance capacity in curriculum, instruction, and technology use. Minimum Requirements Valid Pennsylvania certification: Mathematics or Science with Supervisory certification, or Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction, Principal, or Letter of Eligibility. Teaching and curriculum/instruction experience preferred. Knowledge of curriculum development, instructional practices, and assessment. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated expertise in instructional technology and data-informed decision-making. Working Environment/Essential Duties: (These are intended only as selected examples of the various types of work performed. Attends and monitors extra-curricular district activities/events. Ensures effective communication between the Teaching and Learning Team, school, other buildings, and central administration. Assists with personnel matters including recruitment, selection, assignment, transfer, promotion, and discipline of staff, as appropriate. Promotes and maintains a safe, respectful, and effective learning environment. Performs additional responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent in alignment with the school's mission and priorities. Long periods of time sitting at a desk using a computer. Long periods of time walking or standing on school premises. On premise attendance to facilitate meetings, interact with students, teachers, families, and colleagues. Classified as sedentary work under the U.S. Department of Labor: requires exertion of up to ten pounds occasionally, with most tasks involving sitting. Periodic walking, standing, bending, or reaching may be required. Regular use of hands for writing, file management, and operating office technology such as computers, telephones, and copiers. Requires visual acuity for reading documents and computer screens, as well as auditory acuity for phone and in-person communication. Strong verbal communication skills are essential for working with staff, administrators, parents, and community members. The role demands professionalism, sound judgment, confidentiality, and maturity in handling sensitive and broad-based information. Work may involve frequent interruptions and occasionally high-stress situations, particularly when addressing student concerns, staff matters, or parent inquiries. Collaboration and adaptability are essential.

Requirements
