About The Position

The Supervisor of Pharmacy Operations position helps to participate in, direct, and supervise the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy department related to medication preparation and distribution and other pharmacy supported services. The Supervisor of Pharmacy Operations assigns duties and tasks to employees; monitors workload and makes appropriate adjustment to achieve patient care goals; creates and monitors work schedule to ensure adequate staffing. Additionally, the Supervisor of Pharmacy Operations facilitates pharmacy technician meetings and other department-initiated communication such as shift huddles and safety huddles. Ensure staff accountability with policies and procedures; monitors and identifies opportunities for department and personnel performance improvement; conducts 1 on 1 meetings with team, documenting progress, motivating, and corrective action, if needed.

Requirements

  • Completion of 12th grade (high school or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 3 years of pharmacy technician experience working in an inpatient pharmacy required, or, 2 years of pharmacy technician experience working in an inpatient pharmacy and 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Two years sterile compounding experience required
  • Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy required within 30 days of hire.
  • Active Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required.
  • Sterile compounding certification (CPST) required with 90 days of hire.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop training materials and train new employees on proper processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written#communication skills, decision making abilities, computer (Excel, Word, Outlook) experience, and thorough knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations required.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year chemotherapy sterile compounding experience preferred.
