About The Position

Provides day to day supervision and coordination of assigned staff and activities that support the department(s). Oversees medical assistant, LPN and scheduling coordinator team(department specific). Responsible for departmental regulatory compliance, quality and performance improvement, and customer satisfaction. Monitors operational and performance metrics and assists the department leadership team with execution of enterprise level programs and initiatives.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of Medical Assistant or LPN experience in related ambulatory setting is required.
  • Experience leading teams (formal or informal) in professional/clinical area is required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant Program (Associate, Diploma or Certificate).
  • A graduate of a non CAAHEP or ABHES Medical Assistant program (Associate, diploma, or Certificate) or Military Medic/Corpsman training.
  • Currently possess and are in good standing with at least one of the following credentials: a.) Certified Medical Assistant (CMA). b.) Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) c.) Assessment Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABROE) d.) CCMA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of clinic operations is required.
  • Demonstrates analytical and organizational skills along with problem solving, critical thinking, and conflict management/resolution skills.
  • Demonstrates integrity, independent thinking, judgment and respect for others.
  • Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program (Associate, Diploma or Certificate) is required.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal leadership experience preferred.
  • In addition to education, one (1) year of formal on the job Medical Assistant experience preferred.
  • AHE membership and/or CHESP accreditation is preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, EPIC, Kronos, SharePoint and database management is preferred.
