The Scheduling Supervisor works under the direct supervision of the Director to provide leadership to the Scheduling Department. Primary responsibilities are to schedule and supervise Schedulers, and to coordinate and direct the workload of the Scheduling Department, which includes Surgery, Endoscopy and Cardiac Cath Lab. Los Robles Regional Medical Center is a 380+ bed acute care hospital dedicated to serving the residents of Ventura and Los Angeles Counties along with the Greater Conejo Valley. Requirements

  • High School Graduate / GED - REQUIRED
  • Minimum of two years Surgical Scheduler experience - REQUIRED
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally, and in writing with physicians, department administration, medical staff and subordinates
  • Computer experience required.
  • Knowledge of Meditech

Nice To Haves

  • Medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, coordinates, and directs the workload of daily procedures in the Scheduling Department.
  • Ensure surgical/other procedural areas schedules are accurate and up to date.
  • Coordinates case needs with charge nurse, manager, coordinator as needed.
  • Participates in the preparation of audits as applicable.
  • Responsible for training new Schedulers, prepares annual evaluations for Schedulers, assists in interviewing, hiring and disciplining of staff, and acts as information resource person to assist staff in problem solving.
  • Contributes to overall department improvement through participation on committees as requested.
