About The Position

The Supervisor of Behavior Services is responsible for the behavioral assessment, program development, and oversight of behavioral services within Adult Residential and Day Programs. This position provides leadership to the behavioral services team and ensures the effective development, implementation, and monitoring of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and treatment strategies for individuals with developmental disabilities. The Supervisor of Behavior Services supervises Behavior Intervention Specialists and related staff, ensuring behavioral supports are implemented consistently and in accordance with OPWDD regulations, agency policies, and best practices in positive behavior support. This role involves both direct clinical service and administrative oversight, including staff supervision, program evaluation, training, and participation in interdisciplinary team planning. This position will consist of travel between program locations.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or another related human services field
  • 3 years’ experience with IDD/DD population (individual with developmental disabilities) required
  • 3 years’ experience with adults preferred
  • SCIP & CPR certifications preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide and oversee behavioral services for Adult Programs either directly or through supervision of assigned staff.
  • Conduct behavioral assessments and assist in the development of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and treatment programs.
  • Ensure implementation and monitoring of behavioral interventions designed to support individuals in achieving maximum independence and improved quality of life.
  • Complete and document monthly psychological services reviews, including behavioral plan reviews as required.
  • Oversee completion of annual human right packages and semi-annual trainings within required timeframes.
  • Participate in high profile annual interdisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and individual reviews as needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention services and follow-up support as necessary.
  • Provide direct supervision to Behavior Specialists, Behavior Coaches, and Assistant Behavior Coaches.
  • Instruct and support staff in the implementation of behavioral programs and intervention strategies.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of staff implementation of behavior support plans.
  • Provide training on behavioral management techniques, functional behavior assessments, and best practices in positive behavior supports.
  • Provide ongoing consultation to clinical staff, supervisory staff, and direct support professionals regarding behavioral challenges.
  • Oversee behavioral consultation to day program classrooms to support active treatment and appropriate environmental supports.
  • Ensure behavioral strategies are implemented consistently across residential and day program settings.
  • Maintain coordination and continuity of services with families, guardians, and external service providers across programs.
  • Provide behavioral consultation to outside entities when applicable or required.
  • Maintain consistent communication with program Directors and leadership regarding operational and behavioral service practices.
  • Assist in the completion and documentation of required reports including: Monthly services reviews Behavioral plan documentation Annual HRC packages and Psychotropic Medication Changes Case conference documentation
  • Provide written CAP and POCA responses
  • Participate in the preadmission process, including behavioral evaluations and recommendations for placement.
  • Participate in person-centered meetings, evaluations, and service planning as required.
  • Ensure all behavioral services comply with OPWDD regulations and Block Institute policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate appropriate interactions with staff and individuals supported consistent with agency standards.
  • Participate in the Incident Review Committee or other agency committees when assigned.
  • Maintain compliance with all required in-service training requirements.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of all agency software systems and technology platforms.
