About The Position

The Supervisor directly oversees Food Service Workers, Line Chefs, Nutrition Care Representatives, and Leads in the preparation and service of meals for patients, visitors, and staff at UVM Medical Center. This role is responsible for ensuring safe food handling practices in compliance with all applicable regulations. The incumbent is expected to achieve cost, quality, and regulatory objectives while aligning with UVM Medical Center's strategic and operational goals.

Requirements

  • Associates' Degree in Food Service, 5 years' experience in foodservice, or a combination of education and experience in foodservice or healthcare

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of Food Protection Manager Certification Course Preferred
  • Two years of supervision in an institutional or high volume commercial food service establishment recommended

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises Food Service Workers, Line Chefs, Nutrition Care Representative and Lead in the preparation and service of meals to UVM Medical Center patients, visitors and staff
  • Responsible for ensuring that all food handling occurs in a safe manner in accordance with all applicable regulations
