About The Position

Provides clinical and administrative direction and support for the Nursing Department and the entire hospital for an assigned shift. Serves as the on-site, administrative leader to staff, patients, visitors and physicians during the shift. Collaborates on administrative decisions with other department leaders for issues related to their departments in the absence of that manager.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing
Baccalaureate and/or Master s Degree in Nursing preferred
Currently active Rhode Island RN license
3-5 years demonstrating progressive responsibilities in leadership positions
Clinical assessment
Sound judgment reflected in good decisions, appropriately prioritized and implemented
Effective teaching skills associated with the orientation of new employees to support skill development for nursing staff.
Ability to utilize sound interpersonal skills when interacting with all levels of internal and external customers.
Demonstrated leadership abilities.
Skilled in organization and priority setting.
Maintains information confidential (HIPAA)
Visual acuity and hand dexterity
Physical ability involves variety of body movements including stooping, bending, kneeling, lifting, standing, walking, twisting, stretching and reaching.
Physical ability involves pushing, pulling and lifting more than 30 lbs.
