About The Position

As a Nursing Supervisor, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care, LTC, or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team. Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives. To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.

Requirements

• Bachelors
• Starting January 2016, new hires must have Bachelor's Degreeand minimum of 1 year experience in the discipline, upon hire or 3 yearsexperience in the discipline, upon hire or Masters
• Registered Nurse: TX, upon hire
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the progression of the clinic schedule.
• Reviews the schedule and plans for needed resources.
• Consults in a variety of patient care situations requiring advanced competency and knowledge.
• Serves as a clinical resource for problem solving and assist staff with patient related issues and emergency situations.
• Acts as a liaison to other departments and multiple patient care services and ensures special requirements quality nursing care for the patient.
• Serves as a role model to develop staff competence in the delivery of nursing care based on national professional standards, and hospital wide policy and procedures.
• Recognizes non‐compliance and demonstrates correct application of hospital policy and procedures; refers to Policy and Procedure Manual as necessary for problem solving.
