About The Position

This position maintains responsibility and accountability for the quality of patient care rendered and is the administrative representative for both internal and external contacts during the designated shift. Remains available for all departments as a resource person, to aid in problem solving, to evaluate and decide on course of action for any crisis that may arise, to prioritize and coordinate activity and actively participate in staff development.

Responsibilities

  • (20%) Assesses intra-interdepartmental efforts in the delivery of health care to the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient.
  • (20%) Plans activities and interventions in a manner that is conducive to patient centered care.
  • (20%) Implements activities to accomplish objectives for individual patients, nursing personnel, and other departments.
  • (20%) Evaluates services provided by the Department of Nursing. Evaluates and provides feedback to other departments as necessary.
  • (20%) Self-Management: Holds self accountable for delivery of responsible nursing care, demonstrates effective leadership style, communication skills and interpersonal relationships. Assumes responsibility for own continued professional development and assists with the development of other staff members.
  • Operates equipment as outlined on orientation checklists, policy and procedures.
  • Participates in equipment in-services and competencies as they relate to role expectations.
  • Performs job skills outlined on orientation checklist as they relate to role expectations.
  • Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement as required by the Hospital and the job description.
