About The Position

The Supervisor, Nursing is designed to work in close collaboration with the unit Director of Nursing, playing a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of the nursing units, while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, excellent clinical care.  The Supervisor, Nursing will provide leadership and supervision to nursing and staff by collaborating with other members of the health care team to maintain standards for professional nursing practice and excellent patient care in the clinical setting. The Supervisor, Nursing is responsible for supervising, coaching, and mentoring staff and assists staff in development of problem solving and decision-making skills.  The supervisor is responsible for supporting the Director of Nursing in administrative duties of the unit, especially during off shifts or when the DON is unavailable.  Participates in organizational and unit-based quality improvement and regulatory activities and provides input on standards of nursing care. Must provide patient care on an as needed basis and maintain clinical competencies with the potential for patient care shift assignments, including those required of the registered nurse, preceptor, and charge nurse role as the unit needs require.
