About The Position

GMS is seeking to employ a Mining Supervisor – Open Pit to oversee and lead the Loading and Ancillary crew and activities to ensure that production targets are achieved in a timely and safe manner. Reporting to the Mine Superintendent, responsibilities of this role will include; Ensure safe and efficient mining operations to meet production targets Lead and manage the load and haul team to achieve production Delivering effective leadership via engagement, guidance, support and feedback to teams and individuals Delivery on daily production plans plan and contribution towards the weekly plan. Ability to coordinate scheduling of work within a work environment with competing demands and moving targets. This role is offered on 15 days on, 13 days off Fly In Fly Out roster from Perth to Leonora then bus to site. We are looking for a Mining Supervisor – Open Pit who is highly motivated and enjoys working alongside likeminded professionals in a growing team and company. Someone who is keen to get involved with a project start-up and share their knowledge whilst gaining exposure to multiple parts of the wider business.

Requirements

Driver’s license (C Class, manual car)
Minimum 5 years’ experience including operation of machinery in an open pit mine or quarry
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Intermediate competence in MS Office suit (Word, Excel & Powerpoint)
Effective written, verbal and presentation communication skills
Individual and team building skills
