The Role The role of the supervisor, mine training is to lead the coordination and delivery of underground mining training programs. In collaboration with the training coordinator, mine supervisors and the operations leaders, you will analyze current practices and anticipate future training needs, ensuring the delivery of training is maintained to the highest standard. You will guide and support the design and development of new programs and update existing materials to ensure operational standards are met.

Requirements

  • train the trainer certificate along with a background in training and development in a mining environment
  • certificate in underground mining
  • minimum of 10 years' experience underground mining
  • equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
  • previous team lead or supervisory experience
  • advanced knowledge of raisebore and longhole drilling
  • Labour Relations and Workplace Safety (LRWS) Authorization to supervise certificate
  • authorization to blast certificate
  • work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
  • pre-employment substance test
  • background check

  • Saskatchewan Mining Association (SMA) introduction to the Industrial Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Assess training requirements, guide and support the development of new programs, and revisions to existing materials to align with operational needs.
  • Lead delivery of underground mine training programs, including equipment, construction, shaft and drilling.
  • Implement and manage evaluation tools to measure training effectiveness.
  • Supervise and support underground mine trainers, managing performance and assigning tasks effectively.
  • Maintain accurate training records and ensure compliance with site and departmental objectives.
