About The Position

The Material Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the availability of materials to meet production schedules, managing inventory levels to prevent overstocking and shortages, and coordinating with other departments to ensure timely access to the right materials. The role includes supervision of staff, oversight of material flow, implementation of process improvements, enforcement of safety and compliance standards, collaboration, performance tracking, and procurement of materials.

Experience in procurement and supplier management
High school diploma or GED and 2 - 5 years related work experience or an equivalent substitution for education of 6 - 9 years related work experience
Proficient in Microsoft software products, inventory management software, and/or ERP systems
Ability to possess a valid driver's license

Responsibilities

Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with safety regulations
Lead and supervise warehouse personnel
Manage the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of materials
Ensure seamless coordination of material movement within the warehouse
Collaborate with production and other departments for timely material delivery
Maintain optimal inventory levels and monitor stock availability
Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies
Utilize inventory management software to track materials
Identify areas for process enhancement and implement improvements
Promote best practices within the warehouse and logistics operations
Work closely with production, quality assurance, and other teams
Participate in cross-functional meetings to forecast material requirements
Liaise with external suppliers and vendors as necessary
Monitor and report on key performance metrics related to materials management
Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement
Prepare reports on inventory levels, material usage, and warehouse activities
Source and procure materials in alignment with forecasted needs
Establish relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement
