The ME is responsible for managing the design, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing processes, programming of equipment and products, and recommending capital improvements in our manufacturing, assembly, and test areas\. ME's are required to have expertise in a wide range of manufacturing technologies including computer and management control systems including project management\._

Requirements

  • Experienced and educated in the creation of and the ability to read/understand blueprints including a working knowledge of GD&T
  • Knowledge of Cad Cam for designing, manufacturing, and assembling
  • Experience in the area of manufacturing operations: milling, turning, grinding, finishing, assembling
  • Programming knowledge
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies including machine capability and process control
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
  • 3\-5 years experience in Manufacturing and Engineering in an assembly/manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated success leading continuous improvement/lean/capital projects
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player

Responsibilities

  • Provide manufacturing engineering support to operations including day\-to\-day problem solving and maintenance of all process documentation
  • CNC machining responsibilities including specifying tooling, overseeing tool design activities related to CNC programming, tool offsets, feeds/speeds, and tool/fixture/gage designs
  • Implement cost reduction by working closely with engineering, manufacturing and other disciplines to reduce scrap and waste, and evaluate/improve assembly and manufacturing methods
  • Develop manufacturing routings
  • Determine equipment needs and create cost justification
  • Assist in equipment validation
  • Manage projects
  • Maintain records and schedules of work assigned
  • Perform process validation and machine capability studies
  • Supervise/oversee highly skilled, technical employees
