Where you will work Augusta houses Clearwater Paper’s largest paperboard facility and is home to more than 600 team members. Together, our team makes paperboard used in products across the United States, including food packaging, plates, cups and more. With nearly 65 years of operation, the mill spans 3,000 acres and runs two paper machines that collectively produce up to 1,940 tons per day. What you will do The Maintenance Supervisor supervises assigned Mechanical crews and leadmen providing positive direction and management to assigned crews. Organizational Leadership Supervises assigned mechanics and leadmen providing positive direction and management to assigned crews. Conducts performance reviews. Works closely with operation managers, other maintenance supervisors, shift supervisors, planning department, and department personnel to assure all mechanical maintenance activities are coordinated and executed to established plans and schedules. Assesses the needs of the crew and implements developmental processes (e.g., coaching, counselling, taking corrective action, mentoring, etc.) to continuously improve their performance. Coordinates weekend and nightly mill wide calls. Aids in payroll approval process. Reviews job assignments. Oversees maintenance activities. Safety and Environmental Provides regular inspections of work areas to assure that good housekeeping practices are followed and that all department area maintenance facilities and tools are kept in good repair. Instructs and leads crew in safe work practices in pursuit of zero injuries. Verifies that all safety recordkeeping is done in a timely manner. Ensures constructive safety meetings are conducted with timely follow-up on items of concern. Plans, coordinates, and executes electrical repairs on overhead cranes and lifting devices. Completes monthly inspections as scheduled. Supports the mill’s behavior-based safety program and assures that area maintenance employees are given the necessary time required for making safety observations. Production Maintenance, Project Planning and Execution Coordinates own activities and those of area employees to assure that all mechanical maintenance work is conducted in a low-cost culture and achieving optimum equipment and process reliability. Maintains a high level of awareness of all mechanical maintenance activities being performed throughout the mill. Identifies and corrects any potential problems (troubleshooting) taking appropriate action as necessary to prevent serious equipment failure. Organizes and facilitates with planning department for development of weekly maintenance schedule. Develops and maintains crew schedules. Prioritizes, plans, organizes, and executes maintenance shutdowns and shop rebuilds. Controls maintenance timeline and cost. Equipment Reliability Monitors equipment efficiency and preventive/predictive maintenance procedures to identify problems and set up corrective repairs. Maintains department repair records in a manner to best identify future preventive maintenance needs. Observes and identifies equipment which has excessive/repetitive maintenance costs. Processes purchase orders on equipment repairs. Plans, coordinates, and executes lubrication system oil analysis and schedules.
