About The Position

The Supervisor of Central Receiving in the clinical laboratory is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of specimen intake and processing to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant laboratory operations. This role includes assisting with the recruiting, mentoring, and managing staff while fostering a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement. The supervisor aids in the development and enforcement of policies and procedures aligned with clinical laboratory regulations, medical laws, and ethical standards, while maintaining rigorous quality assurance and safety protocols. Additionally, the supervisor promotes a learning-focused environment that supports the education and professional development of laboratory staff and healthcare practitioners, ensuring the receiving area remains conducive to clinical teaching and operational excellence. This role is pivotal in maintaining a high-functioning central receiving department that supports both clinical excellence and a positive patient experience.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree required
  • At least 5 years of progressive work experience in a Clinical Laboratory.
  • State licensure and/or professional certification through the ASCP BOC or equivalent at time of hire or must be attained within one year of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
