Couple that with over 30 years of combined experience and it’s no wonder why KabaFusion is the industry leader in home infusion. JOB SUMMARY: Processes new referrals to be serviced by the company. Determines eligibility and benefits for new referrals or re-admissions. Obtains authorizations and secures financial obligations for new referrals, both acute and/or chronic, or readmissions. Coordinates receipt of information with clinical departments. Shows concern and respect for others by dealing with people in a compassionate, sensitive, and responsive manner. Performs a variety of tasks under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Ensures company’s goals and objectives are aligned with the organization’s broader mission, vision, and driving strategies.

Requirements

  • Prior knowledge of intake and authorization guidelines, regulations and standards for home infusion and home health required.
  • Knowledge and experience of insurance verification, authorization, and eligibility process.
  • Strong negotiation skills to negotiate patient specific financial arrangements.
  • Possess and exhibit advanced leadership skills, consulting skills and communication skills (oral, written and presentation) with ability to communicate with all levels of staff and customer base.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; experience with CPR+ software system preferred.
  • Ability to make strategic, operational, and administrative decisions in response to emerging conditions and environmental circumstances; innovative and flexible; ability to exercise good, professional judgment and accept responsibility.
  • Ability to work independently, organize workload of self and staff, complete reports/projects according to established timelines, delegating work to staff and provide follow up as needed.
  • Associate degree or equivalent education and/or related field experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in billing and/or intake management of infusion, nursing or DME/RT required.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the intake process by supervising eligibility, authorization, changes in orders, negotiated rates, financial obligation documents and all necessary payor information for all services rendered by the company.
  • Supervises Intake Representatives, both acute and chronic, in performance of their duties ensuring proper training and customer service levels are met, auditing quality of work performed by staff, and ensuring operational flow of department is optimal, monitoring of customer service via telephone calls, fax, email and internet access to improve service and outcomes.
  • Collaborates with third party payer administrators, Contract Management Group and Business Development staff on contract issues.
  • Submit information to Contract Management and Business Development staff regarding contract issues as they affect revenue and sales. Notifies appropriate staff of changes in contract arrangements or updates in third party payer guidelines.
  • Supervises to ensure intake processes are compliant with ACHC and government regulations.
  • In collaboration with Intake Manager, DOP/DOO, assists with various duties including hiring, evaluating, training, development, and disciplining of staff.
  • Participate in overall management of location by meeting with Director of Operations and other department managers to review operations, discuss and formulate resolutions to outstanding issues while maintaining and fostering an atmosphere of cooperation between departments.
