This position is part of our Signal & Power Solutions segment, Connection Systems business unit. Indirect Material Supervisor The Indirect Materials Supervisor is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing purchasing, inventory management, and accounts payable functions across multiple plant operations. This position requires a dynamic professional with effective communication and collaboration skills to lead cross-functional teams and maintain efficient material flow. The ideal candidate demonstrates critical thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability in a challenging environment while driving continuous improvement initiatives. Success in this role depends on exceptional organizational skills, time management, and the ability to build strong supplier relationships. Technical proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Excel, and inventory systems is essential, along with a commitment to accuracy, dependability, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite for data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with SAP for report generation and script development.
  • Familiarity with Kardex Power Pick and ItemPath systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings using Unigraphics and AutoCAD.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1–4 years of supervisory experience.
  • 1–4 years of purchasing experience.
  • Skills & Competencies: Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
  • Strong results orientation and execution characteristics.
  • Resourceful, innovative, and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks.
  • Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills with the ability to act independently.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a team including indirect purchasing specialists, accounts payable staff, and hourly crib/receiving dock employees across multiple plants.
  • Provide oversight for the Chemical Commodity Specialist, ensuring compliance with procurement and safety standards.
  • Serve as administrator for the Kardex inventory system, including part setup, layout optimization, user training, and troubleshooting.
  • Prepare and distribute summary billing reports for Ohio Operations review and post related accounting entries.
  • Function as Approval Rules Coordinator for U.S. purchasing workflows, ensuring proper authorization processes.
  • Create purchase requisitions in eCatalog and negotiate supplier agreements to optimize cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Monitor tooling supplier performance and maintain budget compliance for maintenance and supply accounts.
  • Support audit requests related to SOX controls, billing, and invoicing accuracy.
  • Assist in scheduling tooling jobs through the 926 toolroom and maintain accurate inventory levels in Ohio cribs.
  • Represent the department in plant meetings, providing updates and actionable insights.
  • Develop and publish weekly spend and open order reports; analyze plant-specific data such as die downs and crib usage.
  • Maintain crib catalogs and manage Kardex reporting through ItemPath.
  • Conduct mass reviews and calibrations of crib order levels; implement continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency.
